Best Email Marketing Campaign For You: How To Find It

In order to identify the best email marketing campaign for you, you will need to know the different ways in which email marketing is used.

You will also need to understand one very important truth. And that is the fact that email marketing campaigns work best when used to refer people to a site rather than in trying to make a sale directly through the initial email communication. In fact email marketing campaigns have done best when aimed at getting as many persons as possible to sign up in an opt in email list.

What this has meant is that the seller has the perfect chance to build up a relationship with the prospect. This in turn will open up many other chances in future for making sales. This works out much best and much more effectively as an email marketing campaign than the one-off hit or miss effort.

As long as you have carefully targeted those that you sign up in your opt in email list, then all you have to do is keep on feeding them interesting information on their area of interest. This is the best and most effective email marketing campaign because whatever relevant offer you put in front of them via your emails will be viewed as interesting information.

Tricks to Eat Fast Food

Nowadays, the easiest and the cheapest way to dine-in is at the fast food restaurants. Such restaurants are available everywhere. It’s the handiest restaurant accessible in the neighborhood.

Those who can’t cook due to their tight schedule mostly order their meal from fast food restaurants. They just ring the delivery service, and the food will be delivered in just a few minutes, ready to be eaten. What an easy life.

Apart from its convenience, fast food is also known as unhealthy and a weight gainer. High calories, sodium and fat are the culprits of its unhealthiness. It’s often lack of important vitamins and minerals too.

If you are among those who are reluctant to eat fast food, here are some tricks to help you eat nutritious and less fattening fast food.

* Don’t eat big size food (there are some restaurant selling big size food, such as McDonald’s Big Mac).

* Choose the healthiest foods available in the menus. This will help you maintain your diet, as you will not be tempted to unhealthy food.

* Eliminate high fat and calorie sauces and dressing of your food.

* Instead of taking sodas, change it with water or low fat milk

* Eat not more than 1,500 calories a day

Here are some menus for the day which consist of less than 1,500 calories:

Breakfast

Your 300-350-calorie breakfast:

* Muffin (150 calories) plus scrambled eggs (16 calories)

* Croissant with egg and cheese (350 calories).

Avoid sausage as it will increases 260 calories

* Egg sandwich (300 calories).

All sandwiches usually contain 300-350 calories.

Avoid bacon as it has more than 300 calories.

Lunch

Your 400-450-calorie lunch:

* Grilled chicken (400 calories)

* Four chicken nuggets and small portion of french fries (420 calories)

* Grilled potatoes with chili sauce and cheese (395 calories)

* Sandwich with chicken inside (300 calories) and salad with low fat dressing ( 125 calories)

* Individual chicken popcorn (450 calories)

The most important thing in consuming pizza is to eat thin flat slight pizza with less topping to minimize the calories (unnecessary for vegetables topping).

Honda Accord Hybrid 2005: The Weekly Driver Review

If there are any reservations among consumers about the
overall worthiness of hybrid vehicles, the 2005 Honda Accord has done
its part to end the apprehension.

The Accord hybrid which joined the Civic and Insight hybrid models
this year is a high-performance, fuel-efficient, well-designed and
spacious addition to the more than two-dozen available configurations
of the exceedingly popular Accord.

The hybrid shares all of the upside attributes of the gas engine Accord.
But it also features a surprisingly quick 255-horsepower three-liter, V6
engine. And, of course, it offers the benefits of substantially increased
gas mileage via its Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) and Variable Cylinder
Management (VCM) electronic systems.

My test drive for the week was the four-door sedan that included every
available Accord option, including leather seats, a navigation system
and XM satellite radio. With its nicely toned silver pearl metallic exterior,
perfectly complementary gray, leather interior, 16-inch alloy wheels and
classic Accord body style, the hybrid is one sharp-looking sedan.

For years, Accords have received high marks in many design
and functionality categories. The hybrid version only confirms the
reasons for the praise. Its front and rear-seat room is plentiful and
comfortable and its controls and instrumentation are attractive. The
hybrid model does have 2.8 cubic feet less trunk space than other
Accord sedans, but the available area is still adequate.

More impressive is the hybrid’s performance. During my one-week’s
tenure with the car, I made many around-the-town treks in which the
hybrid’s quick acceleration, responsiveness and fuel-economy high
ratings were readily apparent. The hybrid has a 7.5-second, 0-60 mph
designation, for example. And at stop signs and stop lights, the engine’s
gas to electric transition idle stop function provides an appreciably quiet
waiting period.

I also took the vehicle (and a friend) on a 180-mile round-trip trek
from Sacramento to San Francisco, and that’s where the vehicle
performed particularly well.

In bumper-to-bumper traffic, while accelerating to change lanes or when
reacting suddenly to an erratic driver’s moves, the hybrid was in charge.
It’s quick, it steers with precision, and it provides a quiet, confident ride.

With its efficient, well-designed and easy-to-use navigation system and
quality CD and satellite radio features, the Accord hybrid is matched
well against its formidable competition, including the Chevrolet Malibu,
Nissan Altima and Toyota Camry.

The Accord hybrid does not come cheap, though. The fuel-efficient
option adds a $3,000 premium to the Accord’s high-end base price and
pushes the vehicle into the $30,000 price range. Its one option package
is the navigation system and that adds another $2,000.

As a result, paying more than $32,000 for a Honda Accord warrants
some additional hesitancy while comparison shopping.

But if the manufacturer’s estimated yearly fuel cost of $842 and the
estimated mileage averages of 29 (city) and 37 (highway) are
reasonably accurate, the increased purchase price should be
neutralized by a potential buyer with environmental concerns and with
long-term ownership plans.

2005 Honda Accord Hybrid

Safety features Driver and front passenger dual-stage front,
side and side curtain airbags; ABS brakes.

Fuel Mileage (estimates) 29 mpg (city), 37 mpg (highway).

Warranty Bumper to bumper, 3 years/36,000 miles;
Powerpack, 8 years/100,000 miles; Corrosion, 5 years/unlimited miles.

Base price $30,140.00.

Mexican Bus Riding Part II

After experiencing the writhing blob-surge of Mexican humanity getting on the bus, you will experience the same blob-surge of Mexican humanity inside the bus only it will cease to writhe. You will be immobilized. All you can do is thinkmoving will not be an option. If you multiply the number of seats in a Mexican bus by three, you will have number of people with which you will have to contend when riding the bus in Mexico.

I knew the number of seats in each bus at one time. However, the city of Guanajuato has been upgrading their buses and I no longer know exactly how many seats are in the new buses. No matter the number, it is an irrevocable fact of life in Mexico that three times the safe occupant limit will somehow be jammed inside a bus.

This happens in other conveyances as well. All one must do to observe this fact is stand on the street and watch cabs and cars roll by. A car in Mexico, designed to seat four, will in this country comfortably hold twelve. And my Lord, a truck! A simple Ford pickup will comfortably hold an entire neighborhood. The habit of stuffing many people into vehicles is nothing new or unusual in Mexico. This is also not particular to Mexico.

Our friend, Saiko, tells us that Mexico is nothing compared with Japan. She lives in a little city outside Tokyo and must ride the train to Tokyo each day to work. The train stations and subways also have the blobbing-surging boarding technique. Instead of Mexicans, you have a writhing blob-surge of Japanese humanity trying to get on the conveyances all at the same time. But what is unique is that they have “stuffers” to assist you. These are people with what sounds like gigantic push brooms who will actually push the blob-surge of people into the door of the train so it will close. They literally “pack” you through the door and into the passenger compartment.

We need “stuffers” in Mexico!

In the last six months, I have had the privilege of “sitting” on the bus exactly three times. Another irrevocable fact of Mexican bus riding is that you can almost count on having to stand. This is usually ok. Since you will be packed tightly, sandwiched between people, backpacks, packages, and maybe a goat, there is almost no chance of falling when the bus driver makes the unavoidable death-defying hairpin turns.

Mexicans are a close and not easily embarrassed people. They have to be from generations of Mexican bus riding. When you stand on the bus, you are mashed into parts of other people’s bodies of which you would never speak in mixed company. You simply cannot afford to be squeamish and still use public transportation.

My body’s parts have been places where no married man’s should go. (God forbid if I had eaten beans that day!) I’ve had fundaments mashed into parts of me that leave me traumatized for days afterward. If I am ever lucky enough to score a seat on a bus then I can be guaranteed to have my face smashed into parts of women’s bodies…parts only their husbands should touch.

My wife, however, is a good sport about this and gets a good laugh (all the time) at my expense.

If body parts do not smash you then bags, backpacks, machine parts, or any one of a variety of objects will threaten to smack you in the head. It is almost worth having to stand to avoid potential injuries.

Getting off the bus can also be a feat in human athleticism. Imagine thirty Junior High kids riding the bus to class, all standing in the aisle, and all wearing backpacks. They are packed tightly into the aisle with their backpacks interlocked like a series of cogs in a machine. If one turns, they all turn. Imagine getting past that to get out the back door of the bus!

As you can see, life as an American expat is not all fun and games. Between four-hour lunches and sitting in beautiful parks watching the world go by mainly not doing much of anything in our new lives, one must consider how we Americans struggle so valiantly with the vast differences in this culture. My God in heaven, the things with which we must contend.

Next time…Mexican Streetwalking

The Cosmos is Infinite, the Mind Finite?

Many believe the cosmos is infinite. Indeed this is certainly a possibility as we look out into space and realize how insignificant we really are. Recently in an online think tank forum a member pitched the thought, which is somewhat a reflection of Carl Sagan’s ideas, that indeed the cosmos is infinite. He further went on to say that the human mind could not understand this for it was finite.

The cosmos and its potential to be infinite is a plausible theory, I do not deny it. To say the human mind cannot comprehend it is to limit one’s self. I certainly do not pretend to be “all knowing” by any means, but one should not be so short sided that they could not understand it, if it were explained to them correctly. I therefore completely disagree, but that is a debate for another time and place of course.

But is the human mind really finite? How could one judge that? How would one know and what is the definition of finite in the context of a human mind? Who is to say that the human mind is finite? Isn’t someone who believes such, making it finite by limiting their thoughts? Then indeed they would be correct, simply because they believed it to be so. Do you believe the Cosmos is infinite? Do you believe the human mind is finite? What are your thoughts on this? Think on this in 2006.

Nepalese climber, 74, oldest mountaineer to conquer Mt Everest

More than 2993 people have climbed to the summit since it was first conquered in 1953 by New Zealander Edmund Hillary, who died in January, and Nepal’s Tenzing Norgay.

Nevertheless, the decision to actualize a long-time personal goal left Min Bahadur Sherchan with some internal uncertainties, he cited the political actions of China and Nepal as providing the greatest adversity he faced on his journey. With the Chinese preparing for the impending summer Olympic Games, Andrew Brash noted that the government’s actions hardly reflected the Olympic spirit. The 74-year-old man from Nepal is now the oldest person to have reached the top of Chomolungma. His first found him within 176 metres of the peak when his team stopped to help a fellow mountaineer who was left for dead. Three years later, Bahadur Sherchan, a University of Calgary alumni, returned to Chomolungma or Mount Everest to finish what he had started.

Bahadur Sherchan last attempt resulted in the rescue of Lincoln Hall, an Australian climber who was left by his team in the “death zone.”

Sherchan just 7 days away from his 77th birthday beat the age record set last year by 71-year-old Japanese teacher Katsusuke Yanagisawa.

Min Bahadur Sherchan and four climbing guides reached the 29,035-foot (8,850-meters) summit of the world’s highest mountain early Sunday, said Ramesh Chretri, an official with Nepal’s ministry of tourism. “The Chinese weren’t allowing anybody on the mountain. They ended up commandeering it for themselves, even though the mountain is shared by two countries. They basically coerced the Nepali government to not allow any climbers past camp two on the Nepali side. “Everest this year became a political pawn,” he said with some frustration.

He was reported in good health as he began making his descent. Hall was frostbitten and severely disoriented due to altitude sickness. Andrew Brash returned a hero to Calgarians. As he planned for the climb, Sherchan told reporters he wanted to inspire fellow senior citizens. He also said many Nepalese have established records on the Mount Everest, so it was only fitting that the record for the oldest climber to reach the summit should also belong to a Nepali. The Chinese were flying their airplanes over the mountain and had Chinese officials in Kathmandu. This year climber Anthony Loeff is reporting the scales for Mt Everest after reaching the summit of Mont Blanc earlier this season.

Now that Min Bahadur Sherchan has successfully scaled the tallest mountain in the world, he is once again ready to focus on his family. They flexed their muscles this year all the in name of the Olympic spirit, but it was hardly spirited at all.”

Min Bahadur Sherchan returned this week from Nepal after successfully climbing to the summit of Mount Everest. However, he was all too aware of the potential dangers the mountain could bring. Certain parts of the climb are more dangerous than others and it is important for climbers to remain focused

4 Powerful Ways To Fire Up Your Motivation

It’s so difficult to go on when everything seems to fail, isn’t
it? Are there times in your life when you really want to call
it “quits” because you just can’t see any good results from all
the hard work you’ve done?

Hold your horses!

Never ever think of giving up. Winners never quit and quitters
never win. Take all negative words out of your mental dictionary
and focus on the solutions with utmost conviction and patience.
The battle is never lost until you’ve abandon your vision.

But what if you’re really exhausted physically, mentally, and
most of all emotionally? Here are some sources of motivation
to prompt you in reaching the peak of accomplishment.

1) The Overwhelming Feeling of Attaining your Desired End

How would you feel after accomplishing your mission? Of course
you will feel ecstatic. You might be shedding tears of joy. Let
this tremendous feeling sink in and encourage you to persist
despite all odds.

When I was studying for the Board Exams, I used this technique
to motivate me. I would envision the sweetness of folks calling
me a CPA. It would command respect. People will look up to
me as a higher level of authority. And I would have better
chances of finding a good job. I absorbed all these great
perceptions into my inner being in order to achieve my ultimate
goal.

2) The Reward System

How would you feel if you’ve entered a contest, but there are no
prizes for the winners? It’s not very encouraging, isn’t it?

The same principles apply to your vision. Reward yourself after
accomplishing a goal. Set a particular incentive for every
objective.

Let’s say if you’ve achieved a particular task, you’ll treat
yourself to your favorite restaurant. When you’ve finished
a bigger task, you’ll go on a vacation.

Got the idea?

Just set something gratifying to indulge in after completing
a certain undertaking.

3) The Powerful Force of Humanity

If you want to succeed, surround yourself with the right
kind of people who will support and encourage you all the
way.

Be with people who have the same beliefs and aspirations as
yours. Positive aura is generated by this fusion of
collective energy from people of “like minds.”

On the contrary, being with people who oppose your ways of
thinking may trigger a negative, yet very powerful, kind of
motivation.

Has anyone ever said to you that “You’ll never get anywhere”
or “You’re wasting your time with what you’re doing?”

Didn’t it made you furious and determined enough to prove to
them how wrong they were? This is what I’m talking about.

When aggravated, you will do anything to make those who are
against you swallow their words. But of course, your main
focus should be on the acccomplishment of your goal and not
for the purpose of revenge. Never let your emotions toward
others alter your main objective.

4) Take Care Of Your Health

Exercise regularly. Fill your brains with enough oxygen to
allow you to do your daily tasks with more vigor and energy.

Take regular breaks if time allows. Having the will power
to continue despite all hardships is extremely important, but
you should still know your limits.

If you don’t take enough rest, you will not be able to think
clearly and you will not be able to do your tasks properly.
In the process, you will just get more frustrated.

Take sufficient sleep and recharge yourself after a hard day’s
work. Never, ever ignore your health. I’ve learned my lesson
when I sacrificed my health for the sake of success. I’ve
worked very long hours everyday and just got minimal sleep.
As a result, I became ill.

It’s not worth it. Success won’t matter if you don’t have
good health to enjoy it.

Fire up your motivation and live life to the fullest!

An Outsourcer’s Passage to India: How to Do It, part II

Part I of this article listed all the things that you, an outsourcer, must do in preparation for a trip to India. It saw you up to the airport on your day of departure.

Now you’re on the plane and you’ve had dinner; your eyes close as you drift into sleep, to dream of maharajas, elephants and computer geeks…

After sailing the skies for an interminably long time, you finally arrive in the Indian subcontinent. Hot, humid air surrounds you as you disembark from the aircraft; flocks of parrots and other exotic birds streak by overhead.

Immigration takes anything between 10 and 90 minutes depending on the inflow of passengers… it pays to move fast and get a good position in the line.

Customs is usually a breeze, since the officers are only after the big offenders (and hopefully you’re not one of them!). They usually wave foreign citizens right by since they know these visitors are potential customers.

Incidentally, from the moment you entered the terminal, surveillance has been on, but since it’s hidden, you’ve no idea it’s in place.

If you now walk straight out of the terminal, voracious taxi drivers will descend upon you en masse, much like vultures on an African kill, after which they will proceed to confuse and destroy your thinking process in their attempt to sell you a ride.

So don’t venture outside unprotected. Buy a controlled-rate coupon inside the terminal at the ‘prepaid taxi’ counter for a taxi ride to your hotel. The salesperson will also assign a taxi and driver to you.

The prepaid taxi coupon is your body armor against those unregulated taxi-drivers… they will not come near you when they see that slip of paper in your hands. You can walk to your taxi without fear of attack.

Once you’re at your hotel, you’re in safe hands, because indeed, Indian business hotels are havens for travellers. Their managements are seriously concerned about guests’ well-being and comfort; their environs are restful and healing.

Knock back your welcome drink and decompress. Once that’s done, gently channel your thoughts towards acquiring a vital necessity: a mobile phone with GSM connectivity.

If you are a seasoned traveller, you will have a ‘tri-band’ mobile, in which case all you have to do is buy a SIM card and a prepaid connection, which will cost you about US$35 (as of 2005) including nearly 250 minutes of talk time.

If you don’t have a tri-band, buy an inexpensive GSM mobile for about $45 in addition to a SIM card. SIM cards and phones are available at any of the myriad phone shops in any Indian metropolis; your concierge will tell you where the nearest one is.

Take this advice on mobiles very seriously… one cannot stress how important it is… I’ll be you $10 you’ll thank me for it later!

Inaugurate your new phone by calling the vendor you came to see. Get to the vendor’s office by car (yours or theirs, as long as it has air conditioning); other means of transport like auto rickshaws may look exciting but will likely result in a missed appointment…

When at the vendor’s place, look for:

* Capacity: (workstations and people);

* Supervisory arrangements: (floor managers, project leaders, group heads);

* Security: (controlled physical access and password-protected network resources).

Most importantly, meet the person who will be in charge of the project you are thinking of giving the vendor. Is s/he articulate? Tech-savvy? Quality conscious? Deadline oriented? Easy to get along with? Is there a second line to take over if s/he is away?

You must of course also hand over a copy of your RFP and discuss each point in fine detail.

Bear in mind that most often, Indians are formal to begin with. If you invite the key people to a meal, they will be very happy to relate to you on a personal level… this is better for all parties concerned.

Conclude each visit by asking for your quotation within a specified timeframe; encourage the vendor to email you freely regarding any questions s/he may have.

At the end of a visit, ask yourself if you have a good feeling about the interaction. If the answer is an overwhelming “NO!”, you had better strike the vendor off the hopefuls list. For any other answer, keep them in the running.

Follow these steps for all the hopefuls, and do extensive Internet research on the final candidates from the broadband connection in your hotel room.

Great, the business part of your trip is over, it’s time for recreation!

There are many unusual things to see in any Indian city, and you’d best ask your mentor what these are. There’s no point seeing typical big-city sights… look for the ancient or the ethnic (Akbar’s tomb, Kerala waterways or the Hindu temple at Madurai, for instance).

Be careful when deciding what to eat or drink. Only eat in restaurants that are clean by your country’s standards; stick to bottled water from reputed companies like Kinley or Aqua Fina. And no matter how badly you may be tempted, do not eat from those small roadside carts and kiosks!

If you want to buy souvenirs to take home, ask your mentor where to shop, else you may very well end up paying twice what you should. Buy things that are not easy to come by in your home country: fine silks, carpets, and most importantly, Indian jewelry, of which only meagre selections are available outside the subcontinent.

So now, replete with silk, gold and an outsourcing vendor shortlist, you’re at the end of a memorable journey. Get on a plane, push the seat back and wonder how it all went by so fast.

Dream about how much you’re going to save in costs, the quality improvements you will see, what a good thing you’ve done for your company, and how glad you were that you planned your trip carefully.

You now have valuable knowledge and experience about travelling to India, and might very well soon be recognized as an expert in the subject. Fare thee well, bold traveller, and fearlessly guide all those who may follow in your footsteps.
