The belly is much more clever than we have been taught to believe. I am sure you have heard the phrase, ‘Follow your gut.’ in reality we have a lot of terms like that in our language : *a gutsy person *gut-level feeling *gut it out *have the courage *trust your tummy it appears that these jargon phrases basically have a solid, systematic basis. Medical research has demonstrated that there’s a 2nd brain in the body and it’s found in the belly. This brain is made from nerve cells lining the colon. Michael Gershon, lecturer at Columbia College University of Doctors and Surgeons in N. Y Town, has done in depth research demonstrating the enteric nerve system operates as an independent, 2nd brain in the body. This belly brain is just as complicated as the one in our heads. The enteric nerve system and the frontal lobe of the skull brain are really formed from the same group of cells in the developing fetus.
The nerves in the belly are smart.
Just as we trust our bodies to respire completely, we are able to also trust them to lead our eating. Follow your belly’s knowledge when you eat. One ) every couple of bitestake a pause.
Put your hand on your belly and breathe. Two ) Ask if it has had enough. Is it full? Would it like more? Three ) Would it prefer some other food right now? 5 ) Practice following what your belly tells you. What an ideawe can trust our bodies. We are able to let our bellies guide us in what’ll be best for our individual bodies to reach the top of health. We do not need rules and laws.
