Continuation Betting

Poker games great when things are going you way, but sometimes, things just don’t seem to work out. I’ve had entire online poker games in which I never got a playable hand. It wasn’t even a question of playing spec hands; the hands I folded never even hit the flop. The game isn’t over if you’re not getting cards, though; if you’re not getting the cards that you need to win, you need to make something happen for yourself by stealing up every pot that you can. Continuation betting is one of my favorites ways to grab those pots.
When I’m buying up pots, I’ll occasionally make the mistake of thinking that the bluff is over when someone calls me and the flop misses, but remember-the bluff isn’t done until you’ve tried a continuation bet. If the flop misses you, the chances are that it missed everybody else, too. Think about the sinking feeling that everyone else in that hand is probably getting and lay out another bet on the table at Everest Poker.
A good number of bluffs are won after the flop-those continuation bets are a great way to convince a caller to get out of a hand, and they’re a great way to get some chips in your stack.
