Most people enjoy listening to some kind of music. Music can take us to a different place and a different time as soon as we hear the first couple of notes or words. Another way that I have created memories through music is by attending music concerts. I was lucky to experience many concerts in my high school and college days. The excitement of knowing that a favorite group, band, or performer was coming to a close venue was so exciting! Then, it was time to find out that could go and if we had enough money for tickets. Believe me, actually having the tickets in your hands felt so well. I can still remember the day my friend Kim and I received our Tina Turner tickets, we felt like we were going to see The Queen! Well, in a way I guess we were. Now, I think about how easy it is to get tickets on-line through various sites like www.viagogo.co.uk. If the show you want to see is sold out and you are willing to search, you can even find a ticket on Ebay, Craigslist or other auction sites. Kim and I had to either call on the phone or go stand in a long line. The next wonderful step was going to the show. For us it usually meant about a 2 hour drive and we would play the music of whomever we were going to see. So much fun, singing at the top of our lungs and not caring that we couldn’t carry a tune in a bucket! Ah, the parking lot, at this point the excitement was really high. You were about to listen to some of your favorite songs, sung by your favorite performer, LIVE! I mean, did the attendants not know this; could we not have parked a little closer? The actual show seemed to go by so fast. The Tina Turner show was at an outside venue and I can remember Kim and I were standing on the edge of the grass dancing. I don’t think we ever sat down! And then it was over. Then it was time to drive home. Most people were usually just slowly walking to their cars; no one wanted to leave the atmosphere created by the live music. I am sure that most folks, like us, once they got in the car discussed which song they enjoyed most and then played those songs again on the car stereo. Finally, that night, everyone’s dreams are probably set to music. Wow, I think I am going to go to one of the sites I mentioned above and see what artists are coming to town!
