Halloween normally occurs on a weekday, so most are “dead on their feet” from working all day. Set up a low maintenance buffet heavy with
halloween treats . Food that you can set in advance and will serve a lot of people at the celebration, such as a soft cheese spread made in a skull bowl, is perfect! Look for a store that sells skull pans, skeleton jello molds, and much more in the way of mortuary novelties. Choose a few of skull pans, and use one for the skull-mold cheese dish, and the other one to make a frightful skull cake for dessert. Finish the buffet with veges and dip, and some “food on the bone,” such as Buffalo wings.
Halloween Treats
Don’t just pass mini-candies from the drugstore at this year’s Halloween fete. There are lots of cheap treats you can find that pack a lot more flavor than a calorie filled candy bar. Get lots to go around and save on your budget by purchasing one of these tiered-towers. And don’t forget, the holiday season begins shortly after Halloween and that means you will probably be shopping, embellishing, baking, and planning like crazy. Prior to the hustle and bustle commences, indulge in one of these goodies and observe the fun-filled day of Halloween with a treat of your own.
A Skewered Antipasto Pumpkin is a fete food item that is uncomplicated to prepare, easy to consume while in costume, and of course–frighteningly flavorful! Choose an orange or green pumpkin or gourd that is medium to large and is a bit soft. Use long wooden skewers and choose items like cherry tomatoes, salami chunks, mozzarella balls, different olive assortments, roasted peppers, pepperoncini, etc. Once you have created the skewers you can refrigerate them and then, just before the fete, skewer them to the pumpkin. Use a hammer and nail if needed to start the holes in the pumpkin for the skewers.
