How We Added Karaoke Rooms to Our Bar

Six months ago, my wife and I purchased the empty offices adjacent to our bar and resolved to take the fearless step and construct karaoke rooms – it’s effectively a wing of our pub with a linking walkway. The cacophony from the karaoke rooms is completely dampened using sheet lead walls, therefore our pub customers can enjoy the ambience of the public house without noise from our karaoke rooms contending with the noise in the pub.
Ever since the karaoke suite was established, we’ve witnessed our revenue increase in the pub as clientele can have a few drinks in the pub first of all and browse the array of songs in our karaoke brochure. With some courage built up, it’s simply a small walk to the karaoke complex and they can enjoy a bit of a sing song without fear of embarrassment or criticism as the suite is a set of of individual rooms, hence it’s just you and your mates having a laugh in the seclusion of your own sound-proof room.
I think our business plan is a good object lesson of what other public houses ought to try – think outside the box, and take risks when it comes to leisure – you need a selling point other than being a “local”.
