Currys and PC World launched the iPad in their stores over the weekend and stocks have been flying out pretty fast. Luckily they have a page where you can find out whether the iPad is in stock at your local store:
http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/iPad_stores-658-commercial.html
It’s broken down by region, so just click through to find out where near you has some in stock. Stock levels seem to look more promising than they were at the weekend, with a healthy amount of stores reporting warm Apple goodness.
As for me I bagged mine on Friday and have been busily trying out new and old apps and cleaning the screen. Actually, mostly cleaning the screen, but I’ve enjoyed some of the new iPad specific apps; the Marvel Comics and Epicurious being favourites and ‘The Elements’ providing a confused temporary diversion.
The screen is truly a marvellous thing, the colours are vivid and it’s just the perfect size for emails, apps and reading. Although I’m terrified at the scratch potential – I don’t think Autoglass do an iPad call-out service.
Is it worth the hype? Well I won’t be throwing my laptop out anytime soon, but it’s certainly cemented itself as the go to for internet browsing. Now if it only made phone calls…
