When trying to match up mens jackets with the right pairs of trousers, the fabric of each really should be the first thing we look at. After we determine the fabrics pair up correctly, then we can move on to the important color selection. If we miss on the color, all other efforts to look fashionable will go down the drain.
There a few simple rules to follow when choosing the right color of jackets for men, and how those colors will perfect the look of a pants/jacket combination.
We do not want to fall short of looking like we are wearing a dress suit, so we want to strike a contrast between our jackets and pants.
Don’t make the mistake of thinking that matching tone means match the color. Tone refers to something closer to the shade of a color. As an example, chocolate (dark brown) pairs of trousers for men will always look smart when paired with navy blue jackets for men.
Colors of patterns are another intelligent way to find the correct color combinations. If a blazer has a slight checked pattern, then we are presented with two option in the color of the trousers. We can either match the tone of the jacket’s base color, or we can go with the tone of the pattern itself.
