The decisions to make when selecting proper mens rain jackets are many more then one would believe at first glance. Function, durability, appearance, comfort and price are all factors that must be considered when we purchase mens rain jackets.
When looking about function, there is only one real question; will it keep me dry? Be careful about soft shell rain gear as it is typically tagged as “water resistant” and cannot hold up against moderate to heavy rain fall. Additionally, unless any waterproof fabric is cared for properly, the fabric will wear over time and give way to rain, sleet, and/or snow.
Today’s modern materials afford for most rain gear materials to be breathable, but other factors need considered for comfort. Metabolism cannot be ruled out, nor can what is worn beneath coat.
While mens rain jackets aren’t the stuff that fashion trends are made of, the gear is getting to look more stylish due to high tech lighter fabrics and increased athletic requirements of the wearers.
Like everything else, more money generally means better quality, but the typical rain gear wearer only needs a jacket that is suited well enough for moderate activity.
Use common sense when buying mens rain jackets and you won’t go home all wet.
